Bassmas pdfs

Hello and welcome to the bassmas page. Bassmas will be on Dec 22nd from 5-8 at the Record Bar KCMO. Here is the link to the Facebook event page with more details about location https://www.facebook.com/events/1965593286900279/  There will be great prizes given for all in attendance from Kcstrings, Isb store, and KCbassworkshop. Free to all.

This Concert is for every level of  bass player Electric and Upright. You should bring your instrument, cable if electric (possibly small amp), and music stand. I will have some folders to handout but, if you can make your own folder of the part you like to use.  We will perform these charts below as a group that day. All are invited to perform whatever is easiest for you to play. Please note that some are classical, jazz, and some we will just jam the song so if you know the melody and or the bassline you should be able to play without reading any music. There will plenty of room for both electric and upright basses to improvise: Please just ask. This is for the non reading bass players out there. Please come just ready to have some fun. Do what you can do best and have fun working on whatever you can’t do as well. These pdfs are to only be used to spread holiday bass cheer. You can use them for your own personal use and semi private and small concerts. If you’d like to perform them more formally please just ask and the arranger will be contacted for permission.

Please send all xmas melodies game submissions to the Johnny Hamil bass studio Facebook page to play game with others. This game can be played by all except the very beginning students.

KCbassworkshop does wish you a merry bassmas and a low end new year!

Note: There should be a few charts added before the big day but, it’s work in progress as they say.

For Electric basses we are going to do a few cool jams. While you wait for the whole list. Please jam along with this one. I’m sure we would do the great Lemmy proud if we had 100 bass players playing this one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxl3Jx6Zn9c It’s a easy song in A. You can use the a blues scale for a solo.

and most likely pay homage to the great Paul MaCartney https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9BZDpni56Y  Song is in B major. Stay tuned for an Bass version of this tune.

Rich Burgess is going to lead us in this great song (note: Elvis record bass on Jailhouse Rock which was the first #1 hit with an electric bass on it). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDy6QY8A4dw. Also in B major. May have to change keys?

Then please look thru these charts. Many are easy like Rudolph and jingle bells. Sorry I don’t have tabs for all the electric bass players but, most have the chords above. Use the X-mas melodies game to learn the melodies on the bass and maybe you can play that part? No worries.
