Richard Ryan

Richard Ryan, an Arizona native, has been a member of the Kansas City Symphony bass section since 2011.

Richard attended the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where he studied with Bruce Bransby. At the age of 20, he won the position of Assistant Principal Bass of the Louisville Orchestra.

Richard is the double bass instructor at the University of Kansas. He also works as a conductor, and has held the position of Music Director of the Lenexa Community Orchestra since 2017.
