First song is easy complete with open strings part!

The progressive nature of the book makes it easy for students to play both the double bass and electric bass as this is something that opens the doors to being a bassist prepared for many music situations.  George Vance asked Johnny to write this when he saw Johnny’s young students improvising together after they had performed the classical solos out of his books. The book represents over a decade of teaching young bassists with each song being another way to improvise.  Play along recording lets you make up a new solo every time to get ready for the jam session with friends! Key ideas to be creative while you are improvising

The book allows the classical student to improvise in the classical genre which is something that was standard for Bach and Mozart but disappeared in the classical studio. Teaching improvisation is something that needs to be more widely taught in classical studios but, even more importantly in Bass studios. This book is bass-centric but, it’s songs and ideas have been used to teach other instruments. Most bass players usually have to create (compose or improvise) a bassline on the spot .
