Kasey Rausch calls herself a “Music maker and songwriter of Americana, folk, bluegrass, honky tonk and such.” The bio on her DIY website reads, “I’m a Kansas City gal who travels around the country either solo or with a variety of bands playing authentic, acoustic, Americana music with a focus on my ancestral roots. I write and sing songs about the people and places I love and also enjoy keeping alive good songs written by others. You’ll most often catch me with a guitar in my hands, as well as an occasional upright bass, fiddle, mandolin, banjo or mountain dulcimer. Parkville, Missouri native. East Texas raised. Kansas City gal since 1993.” Kasey also hosts River Trade Radio on a local community radio station with fellow KC music maker Mikal Shapiro. The program is “dedicated to the song trade routes that flow through Kansas City.”
The KC Artist highlight for our 2014 KC BassFest concert, Kasey Rausch will perform with fellow KC songwriter Mikal Shapiro as Partners In Glory. Find out more about Partners In Glory on their Facebook page.
